The sounds and smells of my Papa's workshop still float up and fill my senses from time to time and remind me of the skills and satisfaction that come from creating something from nature!
As I close in on the half-century mark since I was a young boy wanting to help and learn, I now try to pass that wonder and work ethic on to my children.
I try to create unique pieces that are both useful and beautiful in a way only nature can make possible!
As a retired educator and coach of 30 years in a small rural town, I hope my passion enables me to create something you, and yours, will treasure!
Process
"Waste not, Want not"...words my grandparents preached often and we take to heart!
Many of the pieces we create, and offer here, are made from wood that could often end up in landfills, burn piles or simply discarded. We try to make something wonderful and useful from materials that too often are seen as useless in today's world...a worthy trait that comes from being raised by folks from the turn of the 19th century who lived through the Great Depression!
Each piece is handcrafted, with some more refined, while others are often left more rustic to allow nature's beautiful "blemishes" to shine through.
